Located outside the national parks near Moab this adventurous hike leads to a spectacular arch!  Standing at a dominating 110 feet (33 m) this stunning arch is as wide as it is tall.  Corona Arch became famous in 2012 when YouTube sensation Devin Super Tramp filmed “The World’s Largest Rope Swing” at this location.  Due to injuries to other adventures who also attempted the rope swing, the activity has been banned.

The trail to Corona Arch is rugged but being popular the route finding is easy.  A garden of cairns along the right side of the trail is a sign that the first glimpse of the arch is around the corner.  Just before arriving at Corona Arch the trail passes below Bow Tie Arch, which merits more recognition than it gets here in the shadow of the more impressive Corona Arch. There is little shade along this trail so plan to go early in the morning or late in the day and carry plenty of water.  The journey is about 3 miles (5 km) round trip and well worth the effort it takes to see one of Mother Nature’s great marvels.
