The Emerald Pools hike in Zion National Park begins as an easy hike for all ability levels as it follows alongside the Virgin River. As the trail passes the first pool and waterfall it becomes too rugged for visitors in wheelchairs and strollers. The remainder of the trail will get progressively more difficult and scenic until it ends at a sandy cove with the third and final pool. Towering cliffs provide shade for most of the day making this last pool a great spot to sit and relax. The flow of the stream and waterfalls depends largely on the seasons making this attraction best to see during the spring. Emerald Pools hike is quite beautiful and full of vegetation while providing elevated views of Zion Canyon below.
